\nWell, now it is time to wind up the year.<\/p>\n

It’s going to be a long post. Facebook does not like graphomania, but here I can afford it to myself.<\/p>\n

For me personally, the year of 2017 became unusually significant and even fateful. I will not list here all my achievements and failures – it will be too much. I will not go too deep into personal issues either – a lot of friends already know what happened. I will just look through the most important points.<\/p>\n

1. First and foremost, of course, is the publication of “The Colours Of the Parallel World”. It is the kind of step that has been passed: here you are, you have your own book published! An acknowledgement. The whole year I was dealing with the promotion, and the results were not bad. Within 10 months after the publication, presentations occurred in 9 cities. I can reveal a non-commercial secret for you: almost 300 copies are already sold.<\/p>\n

2. In general, lots of stuff happened for the first time ever in this year. The first participation in a scientific conference (Youth subcultures, worldviews and lifestyles) in Kaunas (https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ayfRQuI2QTw), the first speech in English for a non-anarchist audience (Discussion festival Butent! in Birshtonas). The first publications of student researches – thanks to the Rebel Research Center!<\/p>\n

3. I will always remember the protests which occurred in spring and everything we were doing during them with comrades. February 17, March 15, March 25… Not only for Belarus, but for the anarchist movement these issues were historical. For the first time ever we managed to manifest ourselves as an organized force during the mass popular (not opposition!) protests, for the first time ever we were so visible in the media and came so close to the masses. Though the cops’ batons brought us back to the underground soon, everything that happened will never be removed from the memory. These were very inspiring times in my life, and I hope they will happen again once more – but on a higher level.<\/p>\n

4. Also, this year became the year of acquaintances and acquisition of comrades. A bunch of travels, relationships, new contacts. I have got to see a lot of old comrades, became closer to those with whom I previously contacted only regarding the movement. This is genuinely joyful.<\/p>\n

5. I improved my health. Of course, not as much as it was “before”, but still, it is much better now. Thanks to all who helped me with that! Without you, I would still have a number of illnesses. I stressed up workout and set a number of personal records (for example, 20 pull-ups in one set).<\/p>\n

6. For me, in general, the year of 2017 was the year of detentions. Two administrative cases and both in March. The first one – for our picket in support of Russian political prisoner Ildar Dadin in Vilnius (and Russian embassy again, damn it!). I was fined. Funny thing: the court decision was made in the day Dadin was released. The second one is for a failed demonstration on March 25 in Minsk. I got beaten and received 10 days of arrest. In the cell of the temporary detention facility, I caught an unpleasant deja vu. Conditions worsened since I was there last time 7 years ago.<\/p>\n

7. During this year I considerably extended my audience in blogs. An overall number of readers on different platforms exceeded 1100 (most of them – on Facebook). People watch videos on my channel (https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/Ancom1933\/about). I think it is a good result, taking into consideration that I do not adjust to tastes of my audience and write primarily about things interesting to me.
\nI started to write regularly for two relatively big media: Novy Chas (www.novychas.by) and Avtonom (www.avtonom.org)<\/p>\n

8. I almost finished the 3rd year of university. Just a few more, and I will get a bachelor degree.<\/p>\n

Now about failures and drawbacks.<\/p>\n

“The Colours of the Parallel World” is in process of distribution, but still has not become commercially successful. I have not earned anything on it: my balance is still negative and I owe money for printing.<\/p>\n

For this year I planned a lot of reading: both in paper and electronic. Even a half was not done: social media and life surprises took more time than expected.<\/p>\n

Failed to accomplish my sports programme. Wanted to go on 10×5 pull-ups and dips 30×5 but failed. Though running with backpack and Cooper test are OK.<\/p>\n

At the same time I work on 2 books, and this work goes much slower than I want. Learning Arabic also goes slower than it should.
